Silver Alert issued as search expands across Memphis and Shelby County

A statewide Silver Alert has been issued for 61-year-old Patrick Ware of Shelby County as authorities intensify efforts to locate him. The alert was issued on behalf of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) coordinating the statewide public notification.

Ware was last seen on Sunday near North Kanita Cove in Memphis, in a neighborhood located off Hacks Cross Road and Shelby Drive. Investigators said he was last observed on foot.

Description and last known clothing

Authorities released a clothing description in an effort to help the public recognize Ware if he is seen. At the time he was last seen, he was wearing a black hoodie and black pants.

Law enforcement has indicated Ware has a condition that may make it difficult for him to return home without assistance. Under Tennessee’s Silver Alert system, such alerts are typically used when an adult—often a senior or someone with a cognitive or medical impairment—has gone missing and may be at risk, and when public awareness could help locate the individual more quickly.
