Sincere Parker’s 22 points power Memphis past UTSA 95-69, extending Roadrunners’ skid to 11

Memphis turns efficient shooting and bench scoring into a decisive conference win
Memphis defeated UTSA 95-69 on Sunday night, Jan. 18, at FedExForum, using a high-efficiency offensive performance to pull away after halftime and deepen the Roadrunners’ slide to 11 consecutive losses.
Sincere Parker led Memphis with 22 points in a reserve role, shooting 8-for-12 from the field and 5-for-7 at the free-throw line. Dug McDaniel added 18 points and made four 3-pointers while also posting six rebounds and six assists. Curtis Givens III scored 14 points on 6-for-9 shooting, including two made 3-pointers.
Game flow: early control, then a second-half separation
The Tigers established control early and carried a 43-33 lead into halftime, with Parker scoring 10 points before the break. Memphis did not relinquish the advantage and expanded the margin decisively after intermission, including a 12-0 run that turned a 16-point edge into a 28-point lead. Memphis’ largest lead reached 29 points.
Memphis finished the game shooting 56.3% from the field and 50% from 3-point range (11-of-22), numbers that reflected both shot quality and execution across multiple lineups.
UTSA’s perimeter production not enough to keep pace
UTSA entered the night still searching for its first American Athletic Conference win, and the loss dropped the Roadrunners to 4-14 overall and 0-6 in league play. Freshman Dorian Hayes led UTSA with 17 points, hitting 5-of-11 from 3-point distance. LJ Brown and Jamir Simpson scored 14 points each, and Austin Nunez contributed 13.
Despite getting multiple players into double figures, UTSA was unable to match Memphis’ scoring bursts or overall efficiency, particularly during the stretches that turned a competitive first half into a lopsided final score.
What the result means in the standings
Memphis improved to 9-8 overall and 4-1 in AAC play, staying near the top of the early conference standings.
UTSA fell to 4-14 overall and 0-6 in AAC play, with the team’s losing streak reaching 11 games.
Memphis’ combination of bench scoring, ball movement from the guard position, and 3-point efficiency created separation that UTSA could not counter over 40 minutes.
