Memphis Police Investigate Parkway Village Carjacking Spree After Man Robbed at Gunpoint in Red Corolla

Two armed carjackings reported within about an hour in Parkway Village
Memphis police are investigating a pair of armed carjackings in the Parkway Village area in which a man was robbed at gunpoint while sitting in his vehicle and the stolen car was later used in a second takeover. The incidents occurred on Thursday night, Jan. 8, 2026, and investigators have asked for public help identifying those involved.
In the first case, officers responded around 9:30 p.m. to the 3100 block of East Danville Circle. Police say four suspects approached a man who was seated inside a red Toyota Corolla and took the vehicle at gunpoint. The suspects were last seen leaving the area northbound on West Danville Circle.
Stolen Corolla allegedly used in a second carjacking on Knight Arnold Road
About an hour later, at approximately 10:38 p.m., police say the stolen red Toyota Corolla was involved in a second carjacking in the 4000 block of Knight Arnold Road. In that incident, three suspects approached a woman who was sitting inside a Cadillac sedan and forced her out of the vehicle at gunpoint. Police said the suspects fled westbound on Knight Arnold Road, followed by a fourth suspect driving the red Toyota Corolla.

Surveillance images released after attempted card use
Police said surveillance video later captured one suspect at a store in the 4400 block of Knight Arnold Road, where the individual attempted to use a victim’s card. The suspect was last seen leaving eastbound on Knight Arnold Road.
Investigators released a description of one suspect seen on surveillance footage: a Black male, approximately 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, medium complexion, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants with white writing on the left leg reading “Strength,” with a white cross design on the right leg, along with black shoes.
Police are seeking tips to identify the individuals connected to the two carjackings and the subsequent attempted card use.
