During that Memphis stop, the Tennessee Department of Transportation marked the completion of the newly reconfigured I-55 and Crump Boulevard interchange and pointed to the start of construction for the Summer Avenue widening project. A local report on the interchange opening described the project as a roughly three-year construction effort and said the redesign added a roundabout connecting Crump Boulevard and Riverside Drive with I-55 northbound and southbound movements.
